Get ready for a special competition night at Tropical Wednesdays at La Victoria as Chicago dancers take the floor for the Del Mar Dance Cruise Best Social Dancer Chicago Qualifier.
This exciting qualifier gives local dancers the opportunity to represent Chicago at the Final on the Del Mar Dance Cruise, where finalists from multiple cities will compete for major prizes, including cash awards and a complimentary 2027 Dance Cruise.
Dancers will compete in social Salsa & Bachata as a couple, showcasing connection, musicality, timing, and social dance skills.
This is not a choreography contest.
This is social dancing under pressure.

Winners at the Final will receive:

All 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from Chicago will be eligible to travel and represent the city at the Final, competing against dancers from Tampa, Los Angeles, and New York.
💃 Competition Format
- Dancers will social dance Salsa and Bachata
- Dancers must compete with a partner of their choosing
- Each couple will participate together throughout the competition
- No choreographies allowed: couples must dance socially; no choreo will be allowed.
- Semi-finals will be judged by audience applause and judges
This qualifier is designed to highlight true social dancers — connection, adaptability, presence, and musicality matter.
📝 Registration
- To pre-register, email both dancers’ names to:
info@LatinStreetMusic.com - A valid passport is required to board the cruise if you qualify for the Final.
- Pre-registered dancers will be added to the guest list.
- You may also register in person at the venue before 10:00 PM.
- If you are pre-registered, please check in at the DJ booth before 10:00 PM upon arrival.

- 9:00 pm: Salsa lesson led by Jeremy – Open to all levels, beginner-friendly.
- 8:00 pm: DJ Reydilla spinning Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata & Tropical hits
- 11:00 pm: DJ Papi with the 100% Salsa Halftime – the floor is yours
- 11:30 pm – 2:00 am: DJ A-Beatz keeps the party alive late into the night
