Mia Ines Meneses
Mia Ines started dancing at age 4 with ballet and later moved on to Breakdancing. At 12 years old, she expanded her repertoire to include Salsa and Bachata. While attending Interamerican Magnet School, she participated in the Ensemble Espanol after-school program, learning Flamenco and Sevillanas.
Mia has performed at numerous Latin Street kids’ recitals, outdoor festivals, and Latin Dance Revue productions at The Copernicus Theater. She also has choreographed and performed the Chilean folkloric dance “Cueca” at her elementary school and led her classmates in a full Hispanic Heritage Month Performance.
In 2021, Mia choreographed the Kids Salsa (8+ yrs) piece to be performed at the Chicago Bachata Salsa Convention 2021 and joined the ELDC Prodigies Team. In 2022 and 2023, she choreographed her pieces to perform at The Chicago International Salsa Congress CISC 22 & 23 and The Chicago Salsa Bachata Festival CSBF 2022.
You can catch Mia teaching the Kids Salsa & Bachata (8yrs+) classes every Saturday at 10 am and training The Melao Junior Team. She is also why the entire kids’ program was developed at Latin Street and is the youngest member of the instructor staff. Follow Mia for more updates on her dance journey!
