Early Beginnings and Training

Nelson’s journey in dance began when he was 23 years old. He joined the Islad Touch training team and spent a year building his performance experience. However, he didn’t stop there. Nelson’s true love was sensual bachata, so he taught himself the style by listening to music and learning how to move his body. His most significant piece of advice for dancers? Learn your body and dance by yourself.

Teaching Experience

Nelson’s first teaching experience was at Latin Street, and he has been an active member of the dance community in Chicago ever since. He encourages dancers of all levels to approach him on the dance floor and ask for a dance. Nelson welcomes everyone and loves to share his knowledge and passion for dance.
